PNZ-Produkte GmbH, whose head offices are situated in the delightful Altmühltal nature reserve in Bavaria, is one of Europe's leading manufacturers of professional quality products for the preservation and treatment of wood products based on sustainable raw materials.

As a medium-sized family-owned company, with no ties to any large parent companies, this commitment to sustainable raw materials and high product quality is not just a maxim imposed from above but a carefully chosen expression, chosen by a team of marketing experts, of our strategy. This concentration on sustainability corresponds with the personal convictions of the mothers and fathers who, as employees of PNZ, take their responsibilities regarding our environment to later generations very seriously.

All our products are designed to meet the strict requirements of our approach to "pragmatic ecology". This means that all our products must be harmless to humans, animals and the environment from manufacture through to their final application.

Ecologically harmonised development at PNZ:

1986	Complete removal of hazardous aromatic solvents from all our products and changeover to dearomatised hydrocarbons.
1990	Development of ammoniac-free wax stain.
1992	Commissioned a cooling water recycling system for the melting pot to save on drinking water.
1993	Replacement of heater system with a state-of-the-art installation. Reduced heating oil consumption by 20%.
from 1994	Continuous development and launch of solvent-free products such as: PNZ-Holz-Lasur (PNZ Wood Varnish) PNZ-Imprägniergrund (PNZ Wood Preservative Primer) PNZ-Holz-Wachs (PNZ Wood Wax) PNZ-Reparaturpaste (PNZ Repair Paste) PNZ-Holz-Öl (PNZ Wood Oil) PNZ-Reinigungsprodukte (PNZ Cleaning Agents) PNZ-Pflegeprodukte (PNZ Maintenance Products) PNZ-Gartenholz-Pflegeprogramm (PNZ Garden Wood Maintenance Products), which made up 61% of sales by 1997.
1997	Decision to participate in the EU ecology audit programme.
1999	Development of Ultra-High Solid products, (solvent-free)
2004	Building improvements, facade insulation to save heating energy
2005	Changeover to state-of-the-art filling technology enables our products to be tinned in the most environmentally safe manner possible.
