High-performance protection for wood outdoors exposed to the sun. Sustainably produced with regional raw materials.

Suitable for

Any vertical wood in exteriors, where particularly durable protection is desired. For example, wooden cladding, balconies, windows and window shutters, fences, pergolas, singles, garden furniture and garden houses, carports, etc. Well suited for all kinds of wood. A single coat of paint is enough to significantly inhibit the graying process on vertical surfaces. Furthermore, our product contains an active substance that protects against mold, algae and fungal infection.

Product Characteristics
Consumption

Approximately 40 ml/m², meaning 1 liter of Sun Protection Oil is enough for approximately 25 m² per application, depending on the kind of wood and surface (planed or rough-sawn). Corrugated wood can increase consumption (factor 2-3). Lower consumption affects the durability of the coat.

Storage

Cool, but frost free.

Cleaning

Clean tools with thinner or turpentine substitute immediately after use.

Refined natural oils such as soybean and sunflower oil, isoaliphates, UV absorbers, waxes, lead-free drying agents, pentanonoxime, neodecanoic acid, cobalt salt, 0.2 g/100 g 3-iodo-2-propynyl butylcarbamate.

Important notices

Contains neodecanoic acid, cobalt salt, 3-iodo-2-propynyl butylcarbamate. May produce an allergic reaction. To avoid skin contact use suitable gloves (nitrile). Wear a dust mask when sanding. Safety data sheet available on request. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of reach of children. Read carefully and follow all instructions. Avoid release to the environment. When using multiple containers with different batch numbers mix them together in a bigger container. Stir contents well before and during use. Dispose of contents / container according to local / regional / national / international guidelines. ASN: 080111. EU limit for this product (A/e): 400 g/l. This product contains a maximum of 400 g/l VOC.

Usage and Application
Application/Use
  • The surface has to be clean, dry and free of dust and grease (consider sanding).
  • Remove grease, dirt and other contaminants with an appropriate detergent.
  • Completely remove old coats of paint.
  • Application temperature (including drying) above + 8 °C. Wood humidity < 18%. Air humidity < 60%.
  • Drying takes approximately 12-24 hours (roughly 6 hours until it is touch dry).
  • Stir contents well before and during use.
  • Treat softwood (risk of fungi) in exteriors with an appropriate impregnation primer before applying the first coat.
  • If possible, apply once on all sides before assembly.
  • Works differently depending on surface characteristics. Apply a trial coat first.

Thinly and evenly apply the oil once or twice along the grain using a roller or brush. Apply second coat after 12-24 hours of drying (for refurbishment one coat is generally enough). Do not use for horizontal surfaces, such as terraces.
