Suitable for

For any wood in interiors and exteriors such as beams, roof trusses, battens, squared timber, furniture, antique objects, etc. The special combination of raw materials makes the wood inedible for woodworms. Woodworm Protection reduces free lignin and cellulose and removes the woodworm's food source. This form of wood protection does not require biocidal agents, as it only has a physical effect on the wood surface with a natural barrier effect and not directly on the pests. This makes the wood unattractive as a habitat for the woodworm. Observe further application instructions.

Product Characteristics
Consumption

Approximately 50–100 ml/m², meaning 1 liter of Woodworm Protection is enough for approximately 10–20 m², depending on the kind of wood and surface (planed or rough-sawn). Corrugated wood can increase consumption (factor 2–3).

Storage

Cool, but frost free.

Cleaning

Clean tools with warm water and soap immediately after use.

Important notices

Causes serious eye damage (oxalic acid, acetic acid). Safety data sheet available on request. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of the reach of children. Read carefully and follow all instructions. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. IF SWALLOWED: Immediately call a POISON CENTER/doctor. Do not fill into containers normally used for food or drink. Usage and Application
Application/Use
  • The surface must be frost-free, clean, dust-free and dry.
  • Pre-treatment with a suitable cleaner to remove grease, dirt and other contaminants.
  • Processing temperature (including drying) above + 8°C. Wood humidity < 15%. Air humidity < 60%.
  • The drying time depends on the ambient temperature, humidity and absorbency of the wood.
  • Stir contents well before and during use.
  • Works differently depending on surface characteristics. May slightly discolour the wood. Apply a trial coat first.

Apply Woodworm Protection undiluted twice with a brush, roller or cloth. The treated surface can be painted over after 2 hours. For industrial application of the product, we recommend that you contact our technical customer service. Advanced infestations may require treatment with a biocidal product. In the case of load-bearing timber constructions, an engineering assessment must always be carried out by specialists.
