PNZ Yacht and Boat Varnish

Our Yacht and Boat Varnish offers protection against seawater from bilge to bow. Sustainably produced with regional raw materials.

Suitable for

Any wooden surface in interiors and exteriors such as yachts and boats, garden furniture, floors, furniture and stairs. Yacht and Boat Varnish is weatherproof, flexible and abrasion-resistant. It offers protection of the highest caliber against extreme temperature fluctuations and stress caused by gases, bases as well as seawater.

Product Characteristics
Consumption

Approximately 70-80 ml/m², meaning 1 liter of Yacht and Boat Varnish is enough for approximately 12-14 m² per application, depending on the kind of wood and surface (planed or rough-sawn). Corrugated wood can increase consumption (factor 2-3).

Storage

Cool, but frost free.

Cleaning

Clean tools with thinner or turpentine substitute immediately after use

Refined natural oils such as linseed oil, isoaliphates, natural waxes, lead-free drying agents, neodecanoic acid, cobalt salt.

Important notices

Contains neodecanoic acid, cobalt salt. May produce an allergic reaction. To avoid skin contact use suitable gloves (nitrile). Wear a dust mask when sanding. Safety data sheet available on request. If medical advice is needed, have product container or label at hand. Keep out of reach of children. Read carefully and follow all instructions. When using multiple containers with different batch numbers mix them together in a bigger container. Dispose of contents / container according to local / regional / national / international guidelines. ASN: 080111. EU limit for this product (A/e): 400 g/l. This product contains a maximum of 370 g/l VOC.

Rags soaked with this product are prone to spontaneous combustion, as such keep these rags in a tightly closed container or soaked in water. Keep original container securely closed.

Usage and Application
Application/Use
  • The untreated, wooden surface has to be clean, dry and free of dust and grease.
  • Processing temperature (including drying) above + 8°C. Wood humidity < 18%. Air humidity < 60%.
  • Remove grease, dirt and algae with an appropriate detergent.
  • Do not apply in direct sunlight.
  • Treat softwood (risk of fungi) in exteriors with an appropriate impregnation primer before applying the first coat.
  • Final hardness is reached after 3 days.
  • Stir contents well before and during use.
  • Works differently depending on surface characteristics. Apply a trial coat first.
  • If possible, apply once on all sides before assembly.

Apply Yacht and Boat Varnish thinly and evenly by brush or roller. Apply the first coat diluted 1:1 with thinner. After letting dry for at least 24 hours apply two to four more times undiluted. Sand lightly (grit 150) in between each coat. Yacht and Boat Varnish is transparent and glossy when dry.
