10 Reduced Inequalities

Reduce inequality within and between countries.

Inequality is a particularly important problem when it becomes too great and unjust. It is therefore important to identify inequalities and - where necessary - to contribute to their reduction.

  1. We strive to buy as locally as possible and where possible from underrepresented minorities. This is not possible in Germany to the same extent as in other countries, but here too we take care to buy as fairly as possible.
  2. The working environment must be fair and inclusive. We reject any form of discrimination (gender, origin, salary, etc.) and strive to treat everyone as fairly as we can.
  3. We go so far as to not categorize our employees according to gender, ethnicity, etc., neither do we regularly evaluate them because we believe this is a form of discrimination.
  4. All employees, suppliers or other stakeholders can contact the management at any time without fear of repression if they wish to identify or report unequal treatment.
  5. We do not employ "low income workers".
  6. We work with particularly flat hierarchies and involve all employees in the company's decision-making on a weekly basis.
  7. All employees have access to retirement benefits and health care.
  8. We respect human rights and attach particular importance to ensuring that all of our suppliers do the same.

We support this goal and and have analyzed the corresponding starting points and impact and have structurally aligned our business model accordingly. An advanced risk analysis couldn't identify any immediate risks originating form us.

But we keep in mind, as Walt Whitman said: „Of Equality—As if it harm'd me, giving others the same chances and rights as myself—As if it were not indispensable to my own rights that others possess the same“.
