16 Peace, Justice And Strong Institutions

Promoting peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, ensuring access to justice for all and building effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels

At first we thought that we could not really contribute to this goal because we are too small as entrepreneurs. But as we looked at the SDG goals, we realized that we obviously cannot influence the world, but there is a lot we can do at the local level, for example:

  1. Sensible, law-abiding and inclusive business management with clear goals and values and clear structure that takes responsibility for everything we do well and everything we can do better.
  2. We have decided to deal openly with our strengths and weaknesses. In our online magazine timberlove.blog we not only publish hooray messages, but also talk about when something is not going well (our post about quarrels we had with Öko-Test regarding a product is an example of this).
  3. We make sure that our suppliers support our values and goals.
  4. We have supplemented the articles of our company with a shareholders' resolution to make our commitment to comprehensive sustainability binding.
  5. We recognise the right of all people to assemble peacefully and freely, to express their wishes and interests.
  6. We respect the UN anti-corruption guideline.
  7. We take care to handle our customers' data in accordance with the German Data Protection Act (DSGVO) in an orderly manner and would never use it for any other purpose than direct communication with our customers.

We support this goal and and have analyzed the corresponding starting points and impact and have structurally aligned our business model accordingly. An advanced risk analysis couldn't identify any immediate risks originating form us. Please also have a look at timberlove.blog and our sustainability report.
