17 Partnerships For The Goals
Together we can do better, this is the fourth of our PNZ principles. We want to be a responsible member of society and are committed to high international ethical standards. This is why we take on tough sustainability certifications such as the B Corporation.
But above all, we are part of a regional society and must ensure that employees, suppliers and customers are treated (and paid) fairly. In our online magazine timberlove.blog we not only give tips and advice on our products, but also focus on sustainability and environmental issues that are close to our hearts. And if you like what we are interested in, we are of course most happy.
We have often been asked why we support the Fridays for Future movement. We'll gladly go into more detail here: We believe in the right of the youth to stand up for their interests and climate change and "climate justice" as FfF calls it is an important topic. We do not share every belief of FfF and do not think they could save the world, that is something we have to do ourselves and from our point of view the best way to do that is with reason and research. And we don't have to share every single demand or regard everything they do as good. We believe that young people have the right to stand up for their interests and therein lies the support we want to give.
At the local level, we support zero-waste cafés and work with the disabled, adult education (such as the Eichstätt Services) and kindergartens, to which we provide products and advice for beautification. Or the establishment of schools in other countries (e.g. in Nepal through Nepal-Medical-Careflight) On a global level we support, among others, the UN initiative "Business for 1.5° C".
All our support activities have two things in common: firstly, it is not enough and secondly, we try to help where we can. That alone will not save the world, but if many citizens and businesses commit to it, politics will not be able to avoid following suit.
We support this goal and and have analyzed the corresponding starting points and impact and have structurally aligned our business model accordingly. The only risk is if you let up on standing up for what you believe in.
